Benefit Auction - The Final Day

E-mail Print PDF

Several fantastic new items have been added to the auction catalog in the final update.

Online bidding closes at 12:00 PM Central Time on Friday. Bids will be carried over to Friday's event in Land O' Lakes, and the highest overall bid wins the item.

Conserve Community has set "buyout" prices which allow you to ensure your victory without having to attend Friday's event. If you can't make it to Land O' Lakes tomorrow night, you can place an online bid meeting the "buyout" price. If you're the first one to meet or exceed the buyout price, the item is yours!

Current high bid information is accurate as of 6:00 PM Central Time. To assist you in placing last-minute bids, the bids will be processed more frequently tonight and tomorrow morning. We will make every effort to keep the catalog constantly updated with bid information for the last two hours of the online auction, but the last guaranteed refresh of the catalog will happen at 11:00 AM. It is recommended you take this into consideration when making your final bids, as the most recent pricing information may not be reflected in the catalog.

For those of you who will be in Land O' Lakes tomorrow evening, the live event complete with music, dancing, and of course the last round of bidding takes place at the Stateline Catering Center (behind the BP Station at Hwy 45 & B). The silent auction opens at 3:00 and bidding closes at 10:30. Live music by Jazzworks from 3-6 PM, followed by music & dancing featuring Mama's Little Hippies from 9-11PM. Don't forget the production of Cinderella at Conserve School from 7-9PM.

Conserve Community Benefit Auction

E-mail Print PDF

The online auction is now open, and new items have been added to the catalog! 58 items are now available. An account is not required to bid, and your name will not be publicly revealed on the website or anywhere else.

"Buyout" prices have been reduced for select items. Ensure your victory and contribute to Conserve Community at the same time!

Conserve Community is holding a benefit this week with both in-person and online events.

The fundraiser and silent auction are being held this Friday, March 27, at the Stateline Events Center (behind the BP Station at Hwy 45 & B in Land O' Lakes). The silent auction opens at 3:00 PM and bidding closes at 10:30 PM. Entertainment starts with Jazzworks from 3-6 PM, followed by music & dancing featuring Mama's Little Hippies from 9-11 PM.

For those that cannot attend, the silent auction will also be hosted online. Bring Back Conserve is hosting the online portion of the auction for Conserve Community. Here is how the online portion of the auction works:

  • Bidding opens at 5:00 PM on Monday, March 23 and continues through 12:00 noon on Friday, March 27 (all times Central). New items will be added on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
  • Bidding is combined across the silent and live events and the highest overall bid takes home the item. However, to give everyone who can't make it to the live event a better shot at winning items, we have set a "buyout price" for each online item.
  • If you place the first online bid meeting or exceeding the "buyout price" the bidding ends and you have won the item. This is a great way to ensure that you win an item if you can't also make it to the live event to defend your bid.
  • Note that the "buyout price" is different from the minimum bid. Your bid only has to be above the minimum bid to bid online, you don't have to meet the "buyout price" unless you want to buy out the item.
  • If the "buyout price" is not met during online bidding, the item will go to the live event for bids as well. The highest overall bid wins, so it is possible for an online bidder to be outbid at the live event unless the "buyout price" is met.

To view the catalog and place a bid, use the links on the left sidebar. Items in the catalog have item numbers - this is how you will identify the items you wish to bid on when submitting the bid form (very similar to placing an order through a mail-order catalog). You can bid on up to five items at a time. If you wish to bid on additional items (or increase your bids), you will have to fill out the form again.

The items in the catalog will be updated nightly. Items that are bought out will be noted, and the highest bid received to date will also be updated nightly.

Because of the unusual format of this auction (encompassing both live and online events), bids are processed by hand. Up-to-the-minute information on item availability and bids is therefore not possible. If you choose to buy out an item, for instance, we will email you that evening to confirm that you are the winner; there will be no immediate confirmation of success when you submit the bid form. In the event of a tie, the earlier bid will win. Bids must be placed using the form and cannot be accepted by email or otherwise.

Winning bidders will have the option of paying securely online with a credit card or Paypal account, or by mailing a check. Please wait for Conserve Community to contact you regarding the items you have won before sending payment.

Items not picked up in person can be sent home with a student, or can be shipped. Items shipped will require a shipping fee to defray postage, so please do not send payment until receiving an invoice especially if you need your items shipped to you.

E-mail Print PDF
Documents show Conserve School administrators were considering a semester program that would "invite up to 40 students in grades 10 & 11 to come to Conserve School for just one transformative semester" as early as 2005. The program, as outlined in the documents, was intended to be in addition to the regular boarding program, and some students from the semester program could be invited to join the four-year program. At the time, the program was pushed back for further consideration of feasibility.
